The Zhaxi Conference Memorial Hall in the northeast corner of Zhaxi Town, Weixin County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, was established to commemorate the Politburo meeting of the CPC Central Committee held in Zhaxi Town and other places in February 1935. It was built in December 1976, completed and officially opened to the public in December 1977. In January 1983, the former site of Zhaxi Parliament was approved by the Yunnan Provincial People's Government as the second batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units. In April 1997, it was named the first batch of "Yunnan Patriotic Education Base" by the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. In June 2001, the Zhaxi Conference Site was named the "National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base" by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee. The precious cultural relics collected and exhibited in the memorial hall include more than 300 guns and ammunition, medical equipment, daily necessities and texts used by the Central Red Army's Long March in Zhaxi in 1935, the Zhaxi Conference, the Red Army Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou Border Guerrilla Column, and the Yunnan Guerrilla Detachment at that time. The cultural relics display cabinets involved in the renovation of the Zhaxi Conference Memorial Hall were produced by Shenzhen Shichuang Display Cabinet Factory.
